“I ‘dabbled’ in arts all my life: recreational music, sculpture, carving, ballroom dance, and painting with acrylic, pastels and – finally, mostly – watercolor!

The Covid-19 pandemic spun the world, and furloughs made “millions” (unverified) of us confront our souls and purpose in this life. Me too: I dug deep into crevasses of my home. I found paints and fabrics, a sewing machine, and sculpting tools from my childhood (as well as a lot of other “treasures”).

Like a Renaissance woman, I plunged into imaginings and themes which helped me put into form and image what I felt and believed during a long (lengthening?) period of unrest. The subsequent rewarding exploration and confrontation with my dreams and passions was freeing, exciting, expansive, and has led me, after a long and varied career, here to create art.

Decades of appreciating the works of others compelled me to enjoy the challenges of sharing my impressions of the natural world around me.

These days I seek time and space to paint in my preferred medium: watercolor, however selected pastels and acrylic paintings do exist and surface from time to time.

My artwork has appeared on book covers and in private collections. I hope you enjoy what you see when you find my works, and I welcome all comments!” c/o DedhamArtAssociation@gmail.com.
